FC Plyrs United is led by two exceptional coaches: Leon Draisaitl, NHL ice hockey star, and Claudio Pizarro, football legend and former Bundesliga striker. This unique combination of ice hockey dynamism and football experience leads the team in the prestigious IconLeague. Draisaitl brings his passion for the game and his leadership qualities from ice hockey, while Pizarro brings tactical sophistication with his extensive football expertise. Together they are creating a team that stands for innovative and successful football and have a clear goal: to win the IconLeague.

Claudio Pizzaro

Claudio Miguel Pizarro Bosio (born October 3, 1978 in Callao) is a former Peruvian football player who also holds Italian and German citizenship. The long-time Peruvian international played for Werder Bremen until July 2020, which had already been his first stop in Europe in 1999.

Leon Draisaitl

Leon Draisaitl (born October 27, 1995 in Cologne) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League since August 2014 and plays for them as a center. Draisaitl was selected third overall by the Oilers in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, making him the highest German draft pick in NHL history. He has been a member of the German national team since the 2014 World Championship. He is the son of former German national ice hockey player and current coach Peter Draisaitl. In 2020, he became the first German player to win the Art Ross Trophy.

Insights into the 1st matchday of the Icon League ⚽

The first match day of the Icon League took place on September 1st, 2024 in the largest hall in Germany, the Lanxess Arena - a truly historic event! Over 20,000 live spectators on site experienced the exciting games up close, while several hundred thousand fans followed the stream on Twitch . The atmosphere was electrifying and the games gave us goosebumps!

A fantastic start to the season – we are proud to be part of this incredible league! 🎉
