The final of the Icon League in the sold-out SAP Garden in Munich was an unforgettable event. In front of over 10,000 spectators on site and more than 200,000 online viewers, the tension rose immeasurably. FC PLYRS UNITED met the FOKUS Eagles in the quarter-finals - a duel that got the emotions of all fans running high.
The game continued to heat up shortly before the 20th minute with the rule breaker " Golden Ball " activated by presidents Elias Nerlich (Eligella) and Toni Kroos , which doubled the number of goals. The FOKUS Eagles took advantage of the opportunity and briefly took the lead with 5:4 . But FC PLYRS UNITED was not impressed and equalized in the 22nd minute to make it 5:5 , so the game went into extra time.
In extra time, where a player had to leave the field with every attack, the tension was almost unbearable. Finally, the decision was made: The FOKUS Eagles took their chance and scored to make the final score 6:5 . This brought the outstanding season for FC PLYRS UNITED to an end in the quarter-finals.
Despite our elimination, we look back with pride: It was an incredible first season in the Icon League , full of emotions, highlights and great moments. We would like to thank all the fans , the team and the Icon League for this journey. But one thing is certain: We will come back stronger - and next season we will win the title .
